6 Best Selzy Alternatives Tested in 2026

Last verified Aug 27, 2026

The $5.25 Selzy prints on its pricing page is three of this industry’s pricing tricks stacked on one number: it is an annual rate, it is discounted, and it is quoted at the smallest tier the company sells. The list price for that same 500-contact plan, billed monthly and undiscounted, is $7.50. At 1,000 contacts you are on Standard at $11. The arithmetic confirms the discount exactly: twelve months at $7.50 is $90, the annual plan costs $63, and the $27 difference is 30 percent to the cent.

We priced and scored 6 alternatives against Selzy’s real list price rather than its advertised one, ranked by our internal score, each matched to the kind of Selzy user it wins for. This is not a “top 50” listicle. One of the six scores lower than Selzy on the very axis you would most likely be leaving for, and we say which. Selzy also does one thing better than five of the six, and we say what.

Why look for a Selzy alternative in 2026

Not because Selzy is standing still. It shipped an AI integration in September 2026 that most of this page does not have. The reasons to look are narrower than that, and they are specific.

The first is that you cannot easily find out what you will pay. Selzy states in its own documentation that “the cost depends on your location and currency”, and its published tier ladder is rendered by a client-side slider that does not survive being read. We could source exactly three contact price points for 2026 to a verifiable standard: $7.50 at 500 contacts, $11 at 1,000, and the discounted $5.25 entry. Everything above that we could not confirm. Every alternative on this page publishes a ladder you can read before you sign up.

The second is the free plan, which is the smallest on this page by a wide margin. Selzy’s free tier covers 1,000 emails a month to 100 contacts. Sender and EmailOctopus both offer 2,500 subscribers free, twenty-five times the contact ceiling. Brevo allows 300 emails a day against a list of up to 100,000. If your reason for being on Selzy at all was that it let you start for nothing, that logic has been overtaken.

The third is the one our own scoring cares about most. Selzy rates 5.5 on deliverability, inside our Low band, and we could find no public seedlist study covering it — EmailToolTester’s published panel does not include Selzy. Four of the six alternatives below score higher, two of them in the High band. On the axis that decides whether your email is read at all, Selzy is unmeasured by anyone but us.

And one strong reason to stay, which is new. In September 2026 Selzy published a first-party MCP server at mcp.selzy.com, exposing 42 tools, documented as tested with Claude and Claude Code, with explicit confirmation and moderation steps before anything sends. Of the six platforms below, only Brevo runs a comparable first-party server. Note that our own database still records Selzy as having no official MCP server, and on the evidence of the publisher’s own documentation that record is out of date. We are flagging our own entry rather than quietly correcting it.

Ranked by our overall score. Every platform here has a full SMTPedia review, so every score is a real measurement rather than a number invented for this comparison. Prices are monthly list prices at each vendor’s lowest published tier, with the tier printed beside the figure — these six do not all bill for the same thing, and neither does Selzy.

Scores are SMTPedia overall ratings out of 10, taken from each platform’s own review and not recalculated for this page. Deliverability is banded from our category rating: High is 8.0 and above, Medium 6.0 to 7.9, Low below 6.0. Selzy itself scores 6.3 overall, 5.5 on deliverability and 8.0 on ease of use. The MCP column reflects our database at the time of writing; see the note above regarding Selzy’s own entry. Starting prices are monthly list prices captured 16 to 17 September 2026.

Brevo

Brevo

The only other first-party MCP server here, on a price ladder you can actually read
7.7/10

Better for: the Selzy user who wants the agent tooling without the pricing fog

If Selzy’s MCP server is the thing keeping you there, Brevo is the one alternative on this page that matches it — an official first-party server, not a Zapier bridge. It also scores 8.5 on API and agent access against Selzy’s 5.5, and 8.5 on pricing value against 6.5. Its ladder is published in full: $9, $29, $69, with the volume each one buys.

Billing unitContacts, unlimited emailsEmails sent, contacts unmetered

What you lose by leaving: unlimited sending. Selzy meters contacts and lets Lite and Standard send as much as they like; Brevo meters emails. A list of 5,000 mailed four times a month is 20,000 sends, which is Brevo’s $29 tier rather than its $9 one. Brevo also caps automation at 2,000 contacts on its free and Starter plans. Neither is cheaper in the abstract: it depends entirely on how often you mail.

Migration
Medium
1 to 2 days
Selzy exports contacts as XLS or CSV and also exposes an export method on its API, so the list moves cleanly. Automations and templates do not: Selzy documents four guides for importing into it and none for getting those out, so budget the rebuild.

$9/mo

Starter, 5,000 emails sent per month

Steps to $29 at 20,000 emails and $69 at 100,000. The free plan allows 300 emails a day against a list of up to 100,000 contacts, a thousand times Selzy’s free contact ceiling.

MailerLite

MailerLite

Deliverability 8.0 against 5.5, and measured by a published panel
7.4/10

Better for: the Selzy user who suspects the mail is not arriving and has no way to check

This is the move when placement is the problem. MailerLite scores 8.0 to Selzy’s 5.5, the widest gap on this page in any category, and it sits in EmailToolTester’s published seedlist panel, which Selzy does not. That is the difference between a vendor whose placement is checked by an outsider and one whose placement nobody outside the company has ever measured.

Ease of use8.08.0

What you lose by leaving: unlimited sending, and it binds fast. MailerLite caps monthly sends at ten times your subscriber tier — 2,500 emails a month at the 250-subscriber entry tier. Selzy would let those same contacts be mailed as often as you like. If you run a daily send or a drip-heavy funnel, that cap will hurt before the price does. Note also that MailerLite repriced its free plan on 16 June 2026, down from 500 subscribers and 12,000 emails to 250 and 2,500; older comparisons still quote the retired numbers.

Migration

Both platforms organise around lists and campaigns, so the mental model carries over. Export from Selzy as CSV, import, rebuild forms. The automations are the cost, as with any move off Selzy: there is no documented workflow export.

$12/mo

Growing Business, 250 subscribers

Steps to $19 at 1,000, $33 at 2,500, $49 at 5,000 and $89 at 10,000. Annual billing takes 10 percent off. Every one of those tiers is published, which is the point of comparison with Selzy.

Sender

Sender

Automation 7.5 against 5.5, on a free plan twenty-five times larger
7.3/10

Better for: the Selzy user who is still on the free plan and has run out of room

Selzy’s free tier stops at 100 contacts and 1,000 emails a month. Sender’s runs to 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails, with automations included rather than gated. It also scores 7.5 on automation against Selzy’s 5.5, the highest on this page. For anyone who chose Selzy because it was free to start, this is the same decision made again with better numbers.

What you lose by leaving: the agent tooling, and nothing on the deliverability front. Sender has no MCP server, so if you have built anything against Selzy’s 42-tool endpoint that work is stranded. And Sender scores 5.5 on deliverability — identical to Selzy, both in the Low band. If placement is your problem, this move changes nothing at all; look at MailerLite or Moosend instead. Watch the pricing page too: Sender’s displayed $6.30 is a 30 percent first-year promotion, exactly the trick this page opened by describing. The list price is $9.

Migration

A small, conventional platform to move into, and the free plan is large enough to rebuild inside before you pay anything. CSV contacts in, forms rebuilt in an afternoon, automations recreated by hand.

$9/mo

Standard, list price — not the $6.30 promotional rate

Professional runs $15. The annual total of $108 is exactly twelve months at list price, so unlike Selzy there is no annual discount hiding behind the promotion — what you see after the first year is what you pay.

Moosend

Moosend

Unlimited sends kept, deliverability 8.0 against 5.5, support 8.5 against 6.5
7.2/10

Better for: the Selzy user who wants the placement fixed without giving up unlimited sending

Moosend bills by contacts with unlimited sends at every tier — the same structure Selzy uses on Lite and Standard. That makes it the one move on this page that fixes deliverability without costing you the send model: 8.0 against 5.5, plus support 8.5 against 6.5, at $9 for 500 contacts against Selzy’s $7.50 at the same tier.

Entry price at 500 contacts$7.50$9

What you lose by leaving: a cheaper entry tier and any free landing pad at all. At 500 contacts Selzy’s list price is $7.50 against Moosend’s $9, so this move costs $1.50 a month before it saves you anything. Moosend has no free plan, only a 30-day trial without a card, so there is no permanent fallback if the budget goes. And it has no MCP server, which means Selzy’s 42-tool endpoint has no equivalent here.

Migration

The closest structural match on this page: same billing unit, same absence of send metering, so nothing about how you plan a campaign has to change. Contacts move by CSV or through Selzy’s export API. Workflows are rebuilt by hand.

EmailOctopus

EmailOctopus

Support 9.0 against 6.5, and a price you can read without signing up
7.1/10

Better for: the Selzy user who sends broadcasts and wants the bill to be obvious

Selzy bundles SMS, Telegram chatbots, email verification and a certified course. If you use none of that, you are paying for a suite to send a newsletter. EmailOctopus is the deliberate opposite, and it beats Selzy on the two scores that matter for that use: support 9.0 against 6.5 and ease 9.0 against 8.0. Its free tier holds 2,500 subscribers against Selzy’s 100.

Automation5.54.0

What you lose by leaving: automation, the extra channels, and the agent endpoint. EmailOctopus rates 4.0 on automation against Selzy’s 5.5, and its free plan permits three automations of five steps each, which tells you the shape of the paid product too. It has no SMS, no chatbots, no MCP server. If any part of your revenue runs through a sequence or a second channel, this move costs you that part. Its tiers above the entry price also disagree across every source we checked, so verify the next rung yourself before committing a growing list.

Migration

The fastest move here, because there is the least to rebuild. Export from Selzy, import, rebuild one form, send. If you are dropping the automations deliberately, Selzy’s missing workflow export stops being a problem at all.

$10/mo

Annual billing brings it to $9, a 10 percent discount rather than a first-year promotion. The free plan runs to 2,500 subscribers and 10,000 emails a month with EmailOctopus branding, three automations of five steps, and one seat.

SendX

SendX

$9.99 for 1,000 contacts against Selzy’s $11 — and a lower deliverability score
6.6/10

Better for: the Selzy user whose only question is what a thousand contacts cost

This is the cheapest way on the page to hold a list of 1,000 and mail it without limit: $9.99 a month against Selzy’s $11 at the same size, with no send metering and no cross-cap on either side. It is also the only platform here that scores lower than Selzy on deliverability, and we are putting it fifth from top for exactly that reason. Take this one on price or not at all.

What you lose by leaving: deliverability you could not afford to lose, and the agent endpoint. SendX scores 5.0 against Selzy’s 5.5 — both in our Low band, but this is the wrong direction, and SendX is no better measured than Selzy: neither appears in any public seedlist study. SendX has no free plan, only a 14-day trial. And its own pricing page and help centre disagree about whether unsubscribed and bounced addresses count toward your tier, which makes its advertised saving over Selzy less certain than it looks. Structurally similar, so the list and the sending model transfer without rethinking anything. Both platforms export contacts and neither exports automations, so the rebuild is symmetrical and unavoidable in either direction.

Moving off Selzy: what transfers and what does not

The list moves easily. Selzy exports contacts as XLS or CSV from the interface and also exposes an export method on its API, so you can pull the data out programmatically if you would rather. Budget an hour.

Everything else is a rebuild, and the asymmetry is worth naming: Selzy documents four assisted migration paths into the product — from Mailchimp, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign and eSputnik — and none out of it. We found no documented export for automations, templates or campaigns. Screenshot your workflows before you cancel anything.

One Selzy-specific billing trap matters on the way out. Selzy counts unique contacts touched during the period, so deleting a contact and re-importing it later counts it as new. If you are cleaning the list before exporting, do the cleaning at the destination rather than in Selzy, or you may pay twice for the same addresses in your final month.

Selzy alternatives: common questions

Why does Selzy advertise $5.25 when you say it costs $7.50?

Because three separate discounts sit on that number at once. It is the annual rate, it carries a 30 percent promotional discount, and it is quoted at the 500-contact tier, the smallest Selzy sells. The undiscounted monthly list price at that same tier is $7.50. The arithmetic is exact and checks twice over: twelve months at $7.50 is $90, the annual plan is $63, and the $27 gap is 30 percent; on Standard, twelve at $10 is $120 against $84, the same 30 percent. Selzy’s pricing page describes the discount as running for twelve months, though that qualifier appears on only one page, so treat the duration as the vendor’s claim rather than an established fact and confirm it before you commit.

What will Selzy actually cost me at my list size?

We could not find out, and that is a finding rather than an omission. Selzy’s tier ladder is rendered by a client-side slider that does not survive being read, and the company states in its own documentation that “the cost depends on your location and currency”. We were able to source exactly three contact price points for 2026 to our two-source standard: $7.50 at 500 contacts, $11 at 1,000, and the discounted $5.25 entry. Beyond 1,000 contacts we are not willing to print a number. Every alternative on this page publishes a ladder you can read before you hand over an email address.

Does Selzy really have an MCP server, and does that matter?

Yes, and it is the strongest argument for staying. Selzy publishes a first-party MCP server at mcp.selzy.com exposing 42 tools, documented as tested with Claude and Claude Code, with validation, explicit confirmation and moderation before anything is sent. Its documentation was updated on 16 September 2026. Of the six alternatives here, only Brevo runs a comparable first-party server; MailerLite’s support is partial and the other four have none. In the interest of transparency: our own database still records Selzy as having no official MCP server, and that entry is out of date. We are correcting it rather than leaving the contradiction unmentioned.

Is Selzy’s deliverability a problem?

Our rating puts it at 5.5, inside our Low band, and no third party has ever measured it — EmailToolTester’s published seedlist panel does not include Selzy, and we found no other public study. That is not proof of poor placement; it is the absence of evidence in either direction, which is itself a reason to be careful with a revenue-bearing list. Four of the six alternatives above score higher, and two of them, MailerLite and Moosend, sit in the High band at 8.0. If you have watched open rates fall and cannot explain it, that is the move.

Is Selzy connected to Unisender, and does it still operate from Russia?

Selzy’s stated headquarters is Paphos, Cyprus, confirmed by two independent sources, and that is the part we can assert. The historical link to Unisender is real but harder to document: the two brands share at least one person, Alexey Kachalov, credited as a Unisender cofounder and as the author of Selzy’s deliverability material. Reporting of the 2022 separation — the team relocating to Cyprus, the Unisender brand being sold, the international business rebranding as Selzy — rests on a single usable press source, and the company’s own announcement is no longer reachable. We are not going to resolve that from here. If corporate jurisdiction matters to your procurement or your data handling, ask Selzy directly and get the answer in writing rather than relying on this page or any other.

Should I stay on Selzy?

Stay if you are building against the MCP server — a 42-tool first-party endpoint tested with Claude is genuinely rare, and only one alternative here matches it. Stay if unlimited sending on a metered-contact plan suits how you mail, which is true of Selzy’s Lite and Standard tiers and of only two platforms on this page. Leave if you are on the free plan and have outgrown 100 contacts, because Sender and EmailOctopus offer twenty-five times that for nothing; leave if placement is your worry, because 5.5 unmeasured is not a number to build revenue on; and leave if you need to budget past 1,000 contacts, because at that point neither we nor Selzy’s own public pages will tell you what it costs.
