EmailOctopus is an Email marketing platform founded in 2015, headquartered in the United Kingdom. Pricing: Free · paid from $9 / €9 per month. It targets senders who want a dashboard on top of their own Amazon SES account rather than a second sending network. Our verdict: Capterra 4.8 overall and 4.8 support, the highest pair on this site. Watch for: Design named by one in three of everyone who criticised anything. Rated 7.1/10 overall across ease of use, deliverability, and pricing value.
EmailOctopus launched in October 2014 as a front end bolted onto the customer’s own Amazon SES account, and only became a full email service provider in September 2019. It never retired the old model: EmailOctopus Connect still routes through your own SES account, which is why its free tier there carries unlimited sends for 2,500 subscribers while the standard free plan stops at 10,000 emails a month.
There is no SMTP relay and no transactional sending — everything leaves from the dashboard. The publisher is Three Hearts Digital Ltd, a bootstrapped London company run by the brothers Jonathan and Gareth Bull.
