6 Best Moosend Alternatives Tested in 2026

Last verified Aug 27, 2026

Moosend charges $9 a month at 500 contacts and $315 at 50,000 — and it no longer lets you test any of it for free. The entry price is the most persuasive thing about this platform, and it stops being persuasive at exactly the point where you have grown enough to be locked in. There is no free plan: a 30-day trial without a card is the whole evaluation window.

We priced and scored six alternatives against Moosend’s published rates and our own category ratings, ranked by overall score. Every single one of them has a permanent free plan. That is not a coincidence of our selection, and it is the clearest structural difference between Moosend and the field. Moosend still scores a respectable 7.2 overall, and on two categories nothing below beats it — we say which, and we say when staying is the right answer.

Why look for a Moosend alternative in 2026

Two reasons are structural. One category people complain about is genuinely Moosend’s weakest, and two are not reasons to leave at all.

Reason one: the price curve, not the price. Unlimited sends at every tier is a real advantage, and $9 at 500 contacts is among the cheapest published entry points in this category. But Moosend prices by contacts, and its own published figure at 50,000 contacts is $315 a month. Our pricing value rating of 7.0 sits below Brevo and EmailOctopus at 8.5 and MailerLite at 8.0, and that gap is the tail of the curve rather than its head.

Reason two: the API, and the thing that now comes with it. Moosend scores 5.0 on API and integrations, its weakest category by 1.5 points and the second-lowest figure on this page. Klaviyo reaches 9.5, Brevo 8.5 and Kit 8.0. Moosend also ships no official MCP server, while Brevo, Klaviyo and Kit all do — which decides whether an AI assistant can act on your lists directly or has to go through a paid connector.

Reason three, the structural one: there is nothing to try. Moosend withdrew its free tier in favour of a 30-day trial. Every alternative below runs a permanent free plan, and three of them are large enough to run a real list on: Kit to 10,000 subscribers, Sender and EmailOctopus to 2,500. If you are evaluating rather than fleeing, that alone decides where you start.

What is not a reason to leave: deliverability or support. Moosend’s deliverability rating of 8.0 is in the High band, and not one platform on this page beats it — MailerLite and Klaviyo match it at 8.0 and the other four are below. Support at 8.5 is beaten only by EmailOctopus at 9.0. If those are your complaints, our numbers say you are about to trade down.

Scores are SMTPedia overall ratings out of 10, measured per platform across six categories. The Deliverability column is derived from each platform’s deliverability rating: High at 8.0 and above, Medium from 6.0 to 7.9, Low below 6.0. Prices are the published monthly list rate, not the lowest annualised figure, and Moosend prices by contacts while Brevo prices by emails sent. Verified 16 September 2026.

1. Brevo — the same entry price, plus the transactional mail Moosend does not sell

Brevo

Value 8.5 and API 8.5 against 7.0 and 5.0, at the same $9 entry
7.7/10

Better for: a business that also needs receipts, resets and notifications to go out

Brevo is the highest-scoring alternative here at 7.7, and it wins on the two categories where Moosend is weakest without asking for more money at the door. Its API and integrations rating is 8.5 against 5.0, it ships an official MCP server where Moosend ships none, and its pricing value of 8.5 is the joint highest on this page. The structural difference is that Brevo bills by emails sent rather than by contacts and folds a transactional relay and a CRM into the same account, so the second vendor most Moosend users eventually add is already inside this one.

CategoryMoosendBrevo

Pricing value7.08.5
Official MCP serverNoYes
Free planNone, 30-day trial300/day, to 100,000 contacts
Deliverability8.07.5
Support8.58.0
What you give up: the High deliverability band, and unlimited sends. Brevo drops to 7.5 at the inbox, out of High and into Medium, and support slips from 8.5 to 8.0. The billing model cuts both ways too: Moosend gives you unlimited sends at every tier, while Brevo meters them. A list of 5,000 people mailed four times a month is 20,000 sends, which is Brevo’s $29 tier rather than its $9 one. Automation is also a wash, 6.0 against 6.5.
MigrationMediumTypically 1 to 2 daysContacts and segments export cleanly. Automations do not: Brevo models them differently, so budget rebuilding each workflow by hand rather than importing it.

$9/mo

5,000 emails, contacts unmetered

Rising to $29 at 20,000 emails and $69 for Business. The free plan sends 300 emails a day against a contact list of up to 100,000, with the CRM and the transactional relay included.

2. MailerLite — the like-for-like swap that keeps the deliverability

MailerLite

Deliverability 8.0 held, value 8.0 against 7.0
7.4/10

Better for: someone who likes Moosend’s shape and wants a free tier to prove it on

MailerLite is the only alternative on this page that matches Moosend’s deliverability rating of 8.0 and its ease rating of 8.0 while scoring higher overall, at 7.4. It is the swap that changes the least. Pricing value improves to 8.0, API to 6.5, and support holds at 8.0. It also prices by subscribers, as Moosend does, so the mental model of your bill does not have to change.

API and integrations5.06.5

What you give up: unlimited sends, and the entry price. MailerLite starts at $19 a month for 1,000 subscribers against Moosend’s $9 at 500, and it meters emails where Moosend does not. Support drops half a point. And the free plan shrank in 2026 from 500 subscribers and 12,000 emails to 250 and 2,500 — still a real tier, but treat it as an evaluation, not a home.
MigrationEasyTypically 4 to 8 hoursThe closest structural match on this page. Contacts, segments and simple automations map across with the least rework of any move listed here.

3. Klaviyo — automation 9.5 against 6.5, and you pay for every point

Klaviyo

Automation 9.5 and API 9.5 against 6.5 and 5.0
7.3/10

Better for: an ecommerce store that can attribute revenue to individual sends

Klaviyo holds the highest automation rating in our database at 9.5, three full points above Moosend, and matches it on the API at 9.5 against 5.0. It also holds deliverability at 8.0, so this is the one upgrade on the page that costs nothing at the inbox. Abandoned-cart and post-purchase flows that read live store data are what the extra three points buy, and they only pay for themselves if you can see the revenue they produce.

What you give up: the economics, completely. Klaviyo’s pricing value rating is 3.5 against Moosend’s 7.0, the lowest figure anywhere on this page and a 3.5-point collapse. The published rates say why: $30 a month at 1,000 profiles, $100 at 5,000 and $150 at 10,000, with SMS billed separately on top. Ease also drops from 8.0 to 6.5 and support from 8.5 to 7.0. If you cannot name the revenue a flow produces, this is the wrong move.
MigrationHardTypically 1 to 2 weeksContacts import quickly, but the value is in the store integration and the event data behind it. Plan the flows against your catalogue rather than porting the ones you already have.

$30/mo

Rising to $100 at 5,000 profiles and $150 at 10,000. SMS is priced separately. Free plan: 250 profiles and 500 emails a month.

4. Sender — the only free tier here that still automates

Sender

Automation 7.5 against 6.5, and free to 2,500 subscribers with automation on
7.3/10

Better for: proving an automated list works before paying anyone for it

Sender answers the structural complaint directly. Its free plan carries 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month with automation included, which is the feature every other free tier on this page either caps or withholds — EmailOctopus limits you to three automations of five steps, Kit gives you 10,000 subscribers but no visual automations at all. On our scoring Sender also beats Moosend where it matters for that use: automation 7.5 against 6.5, API 7.5 against 5.0, at $11 a month for 5,000 subscribers when you do start paying.

What you give up: the inbox, and it is the worst trade on this page. Sender’s deliverability rating is 5.5 against Moosend’s 8.0 — a 2.5-point drop that takes you out of the High band entirely and into Low, the only Low rating among these six. There is no official MCP server either. Everything above is true and none of it matters if the mail does not arrive: test this one on your own list before you move a paying business onto it. Support and ease hold up at 8.0.
MigrationEasyTypically 3 to 6 hoursSmall and quick, and the free tier means you can run both platforms side by side for a month. Do exactly that, and compare open and bounce rates before you cancel anything.

$11/mo

5,000 subscribers

Rising to $22 at 10,000. The free plan carries 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month with automation included.

5. EmailOctopus — the only platform here with better support than Moosend

EmailOctopus

Support 9.0, ease 9.0 and value 8.5 against 8.5, 8.0 and 7.0
7.1/10

Better for: a newsletter that broadcasts, does not branch, and wants a human to answer

EmailOctopus is the single platform on this page that beats Moosend on support, 9.0 against 8.5, and it is also the easiest to use here at 9.0. Pricing value of 8.5 is the joint highest, and the published rates hold up under a list that grows: $20 at 2,500 subscribers, $31.50 at 5,000, $44.50 at 10,000. This is the deliberate downgrade: fewer moving parts, less to configure, better answers when something breaks.

What you give up: automation, which was half the product. EmailOctopus scores 4.0 on automation against Moosend’s 6.5, and its free tier caps you at three automations of five steps each. The API rating is 5.0, level with Moosend, so the weakness you may be leaving over is not fixed here. Deliverability also drops from 8.0 to 7.0, out of the High band, and the free plan carries EmailOctopus branding on your emails.
MigrationEasyTypically 2 to 4 hoursLists and broadcasts move in an afternoon. Anything beyond a simple welcome sequence will not survive the move, so inventory your automations before you commit.

$20/mo

2,500 subscribers

Rising to $31.50 at 5,000 and $44.50 at 10,000. Free plan: 2,500 subscribers, 10,000 emails a month, EmailOctopus branding, three automations of five steps.

6. Kit — 10,000 free subscribers, and the API Moosend does not have

Kit

API 8.0 against 5.0, and the largest free tier on this page
7.0/10

Better for: a creator whose list is the business and whose tooling is custom

Kit answers the two things Moosend does not do. Its API rating is 8.0 against 5.0 and it ships an official MCP server, so an assistant or a custom tool can read and write your subscribers directly. And its free plan runs to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited broadcasts, forms and landing pages — four times the largest other free tier here, and enough to carry a serious newsletter for years before a bill appears.

What you give up: the inbox, the price, and the automations on the free tier. Kit’s deliverability rating is 6.0 against Moosend’s 8.0 — a 2.0-point drop out of High and to the bottom of Medium. Pricing value falls from 7.0 to 6.0, and the paid entry is $39 a month at 1,000 subscribers against Moosend’s $9 at 500. The free tier also has no visual automations at all, so the generous subscriber count buys you broadcasts, not sequences. Support drops from 8.5 to 7.5.
MigrationMediumTypically 1 to 2 daysSubscribers and tags import well. Kit models sequences and tags differently from Moosend lists, so plan on rethinking the structure rather than translating it.

$39/mo

Creator, 1,000 subscribers

Pro is $79 a month. The free plan carries up to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited broadcasts, forms and landing pages, but no visual automations.

Migrating off Moosend: what breaks and what transfers

Marketing platform migrations are harder than relay migrations, and the hard part is never the contacts.

What transfers cleanly: subscribers, with their custom fields, as CSV. Unsubscribe and bounce records, if you export them deliberately — and you must, because re-mailing someone who opted out is a legal problem, not a housekeeping one. Static segments, once you have rebuilt the rules that define them.

What does not transfer: automations. Every platform on this page models workflows differently, and there is no import path between any two of them. Budget one to two hours per workflow you actually use, and take the opportunity to delete the ones you do not. Templates do not transfer either: the HTML survives, the drag-and-drop editing does not, and a template that arrives as a wall of markup is worse than rebuilding it.

The mistake that costs a quarter. Moving on the strength of a feature comparison without testing deliverability on your own list. Four of the six platforms above sit below Moosend’s 8.0, one of them at 5.5. Every alternative here has a free plan, so run the new platform alongside the old one for a full send cycle and compare the numbers you actually care about before you cancel.

The unlimited-sends question, first. Moosend does not meter emails; most of this page does. Before comparing any two prices, work out your real monthly send volume — list size multiplied by campaigns per month — because on Brevo and MailerLite that number, not your contact count, is what you are buying.

Detailed migration guides — coming soon

Moosend alternatives: frequently asked questions

Does Moosend still have a free plan?

No. Moosend runs a 30-day trial that does not ask for a card, and that is the whole free allowance. Every alternative on this page has a permanent free tier: Kit to 10,000 subscribers, Sender and EmailOctopus to 2,500, Brevo at 300 emails a day against an unmetered contact list, MailerLite at 250 subscribers, Klaviyo at 250 profiles.

Is anything here clearly better than Moosend?

Brevo and MailerLite score higher overall, at 7.7 and 7.4 against 7.2, and both fix the API weakness. But on deliverability nothing on this page beats Moosend’s 8.0 — MailerLite and Klaviyo match it, the other four are lower. On support only EmailOctopus is ahead, 9.0 against 8.5. This is a page where staying is a defensible answer more often than not.

What does unlimited sending actually save me?

It depends entirely on how often you mail. A 5,000-person list mailed once a month is 5,000 sends; mailed weekly it is 20,000. Moosend charges the same either way because it prices by contacts. Brevo prices by emails, so the weekly sender pays the $29 tier rather than the $9 one. If you mail rarely, the metered platforms are cheaper; if you mail often, Moosend’s model is the better one.

Which alternative has the best automation?

Klaviyo, at 9.5 against Moosend’s 6.5, and it is three points clear of anything else here. Sender is second at 7.5 and is the only free tier on this page that includes automation without step limits. At the other end, EmailOctopus at 4.0 is a downgrade you would choose on purpose, for the support and the simplicity.

Does Moosend have an official MCP server?

No. Brevo, Klaviyo and Kit all ship one, and MailerLite has partial coverage. In practice that decides whether an AI assistant can act on your lists and campaigns directly or has to be wired through a paid connector. If that matters to how you work, it narrows this page to three names quickly.
