Sender is an Email marketing platform. Starting at $10/mo, it targets Small senders who want automation and SMTP on a genuinely free plan. Our verdict: Customer service 4.9, the highest sub-score measured on this site. Watch for: Eight verticals banned by name, and no independent deliverability figure at all. Rated 7.3/10 overall across ease of use, deliverability, and pricing value.
Sender was founded in 2012 in Vilnius by Edgaras Vaitkevičius and has taken no disclosed outside funding, which is unusual in a market of venture-backed platforms. Its own site counts more than 180,000 customers, served by a team of about thirty.
The free plan is the reason to know the name. It holds 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month, several times the mainstream free allowance, and it is not feature-gated: automation, landing pages, signup forms and transactional mail over smtp.sender.net all work on it. Most competitors put automation behind the first paid tier.
