What is Apple Mail?
Apple Mail is the native email application on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. On the desktop, it integrates tightly with the macOS ecosystem: contacts sync with Apple Contacts, events with Apple Calendar, and attachments with iCloud Drive. Siri can compose and search emails by voice. Handoff lets you start a draft on iPhone and finish it on Mac.
Apple introduced Mail Privacy Protection in macOS Monterey (2021), which masks IP addresses and prevents senders from knowing when an email has been opened. This is relevant for email marketers and for users who want to reduce tracking exposure.
macOS Sonoma and later added new features including scheduled send, undo send (within a short window), rich link previews, and an improved search experience. The interface is simple and does not offer the customization depth of Thunderbird or eM Client, but it is well-integrated with the operating system and requires no configuration beyond adding accounts.
Apple Mail is macOS and iOS only there is no Windows or Android version.
