There is no single set of GoDaddy email settings. GoDaddy sells two mailbox products under one brand and they answer to two different servers. Professional Email runs on the Titan platform behind secureserver.net hostnames. Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy runs on Microsoft infrastructure, and GoDaddy now tells its own customers not to configure it with POP or IMAP at all. Most third-party pages hand you the secureserver.net values for both, and on the Microsoft product that is exactly why the client keeps failing to authenticate.
Identify your product before you touch a single field. GoDaddy’s help center states plainly that “Microsoft 365 no longer supports POP and IMAP settings in Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail and most email clients”, and adds “We do not recommend following the steps in this article” on its own page describing how to find them. If your mailbox is Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy, the correct GoDaddy email settings are Exchange settings, not IMAP. If your mailbox is Professional Email, the secureserver.net values below are correct and current.

Which GoDaddy Mailbox Do You Actually Have?
This is the step almost every guide skips, and it decides everything that follows. GoDaddy has sold three consumer-facing mailbox products over the past decade, and the address on the mailbox tells you nothing: all three can be you@yourdomain.com.
Powered by Titan. Webmail sits at email.godaddy.com. IMAP and SMTP work normally through secureserver.net hostnames. This is the product the table above describes.
Your mail opens in Outlook on the web. GoDaddy bills it, Microsoft hosts it. POP and IMAP are deprecated here and Exchange is the supported path.

The test takes ten seconds. Sign in at godaddy.com and open your email product: if Outlook on the web loads, you have Microsoft 365; if GoDaddy’s own webmail loads, you have Professional Email.
GoDaddy IMAP Settings for Professional Email
GoDaddy publishes exactly three values for incoming mail: IMAP server imap.secureserver.net, security type SSL, port 993. The username is the full email address, not the local part, and the password is the mailbox password rather than your GoDaddy account password. Those two mistakes account for a large share of the authentication failures people blame on the server.
Port 993 is the implicit-TLS IMAP port: the connection is encrypted before the first command is sent. GoDaddy does not publish a plaintext or STARTTLS alternative on port 143 for this product, and you should not go looking for one. If your client offers a choice, pick SSL/TLS rather than STARTTLS, and leave certificate validation on. The values do not change by client. What changes is where the client hides them. In Outlook for Windows you reach them through Account Settings, then More Settings, then the Advanced tab, where the outgoing server also needs its own authentication box ticked. On iPhone, Mail asks for incoming and outgoing hosts on the same screen and will not save the account if the outgoing password is left blank, even though iOS labels it optional. Thunderbird will try autodiscovery first and usually guesses correctly for secureserver.net; if it proposes port 143, override it.
GoDaddy SMTP Settings and Outgoing Mail Server
The GoDaddy SMTP server for Professional Email is smtpout.secureserver.net. GoDaddy’s IMAP setup article gives port 465 with SSL. Its manual Outlook article lists both 465 and 587 for the same host. Both are correct, and the difference is not cosmetic: 465 is implicit TLS, where encryption is established before any SMTP command, while 587 is the submission port where the session starts in the clear and is upgraded with STARTTLS. The GoDaddy SMTP port to prefer is 465, unless something in your network path blocks it, which is the common case on consumer ISP connections and inside some hosting environments.
Whichever port you pick, SMTP authentication must be enabled. An unauthenticated session against a submission host earns a rejection rather than a relay, which is what a 503 authentication required response is telling you. One caution on the GoDaddy outgoing mail server: a mailbox is built for correspondence, not for bulk or application sending, and it carries per-mailbox limits that move with the plan. GoDaddy POP Settings: What Is Documented and What Is Not
This is where this page deliberately parts company with every other result on the query. Search for GoDaddy email server settings POP3 and you will be handed pop.secureserver.net on port 995 with total confidence, by AI answers and by comparison sites alike. That hostname belonged to the Workspace Email generation. On the two current GoDaddy help pages for Professional Email, the ones that document IMAP and the manual Outlook setup, no POP server is published at all. GoDaddy documents IMAP only.
Our editorial rule, applied here. We do not print a hostname or a port that we cannot read on the provider’s own documentation. So this page does not give you a GoDaddy POP host. If you genuinely need POP, open your mailbox settings in GoDaddy webmail and read the values the provider shows for your specific account, then verify the connection before you delete anything from the server. And ask yourself first whether you want POP at all: it downloads to one device and, with the default delete-after-download behaviour, it is the single most common way people lose mail permanently. Microsoft 365 From GoDaddy: Why IMAP Stopped Working
If your GoDaddy IMAP settings worked for years and then failed without you touching them, this section is almost certainly your answer, and no change of port will fix it. GoDaddy states the cause on its own help center: “Microsoft has discontinued Basic authentication, which means that Microsoft 365 POP and IMAP settings will only work in clients that support modern authentication (clients that can use multi-factor authentication).”
Basic authentication is the mechanism where a client sends a username and password on the IMAP or SMTP connection itself. Modern authentication replaces it with a token issued through a browser sign-in, which is what lets multi-factor authentication apply to a mail client at all. When Microsoft retired the old mechanism, every stored password in every client configured the old way stopped working at once. The server did not move. The credential type did.
The consequence is that for a Microsoft 365 mailbox, the question “what are the GoDaddy IMAP settings for Office 365” has no useful answer any more. GoDaddy’s page on finding those settings carries its own warning against following them. The supported configuration is Exchange.

In practice, most modern clients no longer need any of this typed in. Add the account by address alone and the client will discover the Exchange endpoint and open a Microsoft sign-in window. GoDaddy also documents a way to read the values your own tenant currently advertises: sign in to Outlook on the web, open Settings, then Mail, then Sync email. That screen is authoritative for your account in a way that no article, this one included, can be.
Why You See Titan Hostnames in Some Instructions
GoDaddy brands this product, on its own help pages, as “Professional Email powered by Titan”. Titan is a business email platform resold by many hosts, and its direct customers connect to imap.titan.email and smtp.titan.email, so instructions written from Titan’s perspective give those hostnames instead. For a mailbox bought through GoDaddy, use what GoDaddy publishes for it: the secureserver.net values above. The platform underneath is shared, the endpoint your account sits on is not something to infer from the platform name. When the Settings Are Right and Mail Still Fails
Correct GoDaddy mail server values do not guarantee a working account. Four failures dominate, and each one has a different signature.
On Microsoft 365, read the basic authentication section above. On Professional Email, confirm you are using the mailbox password and not the GoDaddy account password.
Almost always the outgoing server has authentication switched off, or port 465 is blocked and the client never falls back. Try 587 first.
That is a delivery problem, not a settings problem. The rejection text in the bounce is the diagnosis; look it up in the SMTP error code reference.
Check that the domain’s MX records still point where the mailbox lives. A domain moved between GoDaddy products, or to another host, keeps working for sending long after inbound mail has stopped.

Why isn’t my GoDaddy email receiving emails?
Separate the two halves before troubleshooting. If webmail shows the message but your client does not, the fault is in the client: wrong incoming host, a stale password, or an account left configured for POP that already downloaded and removed the mail. If webmail is empty too, nothing was delivered, and the cause is upstream: the domain’s MX records, a mailbox over quota, or a rejection at the boundary that produced a bounce to the sender rather than a message to you.
Are GoDaddy IMAP settings different on iPhone?
No. The hostnames, ports and encryption are identical on every client, and a page that offers you special GoDaddy email settings for iPhone is describing the interface, not the protocol. Two iOS-specific details are worth knowing: Mail marks the outgoing password field optional and then refuses to save the account without it, and if you add the address without choosing a provider, iOS may attempt Exchange autodiscovery, which succeeds on Microsoft 365 and fails on Professional Email.
Is secureserver.net the same as Workspace Email?
The domain is shared, the product is not. secureserver.net is GoDaddy’s own mail infrastructure domain and still carries the current Professional Email hostnames. Workspace Email was the earlier mailbox product that also used it, and GoDaddy’s Workspace Email help articles now return 404 on the US help center. If you are looking for GoDaddy Workspace email settings for an account you still use, treat the account as migrated and check which product it is on before configuring anything.
Can I use the GoDaddy SMTP server to send from an application?
Technically yes, on the same host, port and credentials as a mail client. Practically it is the wrong tool: a mailbox carries per-account sending limits and no delivery telemetry, so the first sign of a problem is silence. Application mail belongs on a relay built for it.
